The SFAI AIDS Memorial is an online tribute to the lives and legacies of all of the SFAI alumni who were lost to AIDS. We are a small group of volunteers doing this out of our love for our friends and classmates who are no longer with us. We are motivated by our desire to keep their art and their stories alive in the world.

We are creating this online memorial so that not only friends and family will remember them, but also to establish a record for future generations to see how much human potential and talent was lost and to get a sense of what it was like to live through the AIDS epidemic. We hope that the work and life stories of these artists might inspire something in the people who view the site.
